MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Roger and Vicki Musick’s $30 million endowment to Dakota Wesleyan University is being touted as both an educational investment and a tool to attract families to Mitchell. The Mitchell Republic reports that the gift funds need-based scholarships for Mitchell High School students to earn college credit and graduate scholarships for district teachers. City, school, and Chamber leaders say it highlights Mitchell as a community with strong schools and professional growth opportunities. Chamber officials are launching videos and social media campaigns to promote the initiative, while Mayor Jordan Hanson called the donation “one of the single largest positive impacts to Mitchell that anyone can ever imagine.” For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
