March came in like a lion, and it appears it will go out like a lion as well.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of the region until 4 PM Friday.  Rain and freezing rain is expected to turn to snow on Friday.  A blizzard warning takes effect at 4 PM Friday.  Mitchell, which is on the eastern edge of the storm system, is expected to receive 2-5 inches of snow.  Some areas to the north of Mitchell could see up to a foot of snow fall.  Winds of 40-50 miles an hour will create visibility issues for those traveling.  The blizzard warning will be in effect until 4 AM Saturday morning.  April will kick off with a windy Saturday and a temp in the 40’s, while on Sunday, the temp could reach 50 degrees.
