Bridge to be Dedicated in Honor of Fallen South Dakota Marine

DEADWOOD, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota is continuing to honor its fallen heroes. This week, the Department of Veterans Affairs will dedicate the U.S. Highway 14A bridge over Deadwood Creek in memory of U.S. Marine Corps Private First-Class Peter R. Ommen. Ommen was killed in action in Vietnam in April of 1967. A ceremony marking the dedication will be held Thursday at the Pizza Lab in Central City.
