GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Prairie Business magazine has released its annual 40 Under 40 list, which profiles young professionals in the region under the age of 40.

The inspiring and dedicated professionals listed every year come from a wide range of industries and have made significant impacts in their chosen professions and communities. They are entrepreneurs, industry experts, executives and nonprofit leaders; they are business owners, patent holders, government officers and community trendsetters.

Prairie Business covers both the Dakotas and western Minnesota and seeks nominations from its coverage area.

“We are excited to announce the winners of this year’s 40 Under 40 contest,” said Prairie Business Editor Carrie McDermott. “We received 88 nominations for 72 outstanding regional professionals and are proud to honor these exceptional young business leaders.”

Named to the list is Kyle Hobbs, DWU Sport, Exercise and Wellness Department Chairman.  Only seven South Dakotans made the list with Hobbs the only one from Mitchell.

From his profile: “As chair of Sport, Exercise, and Wellness, Hobbs leads curriculum design and departmental strategic planning, positioning the program for future accreditation and growth. His leadership emphasizes holistic student development and community engagement, fostering partnerships that enhance opportunities for students in health and exercise sciences.

He recently completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership at National Louis University and continues to advance research on student persistence and post-secondary instructional leadership. His diverse expertise in coaching, education, and program management exemplifies a deep commitment to the success and well-being of students in South Dakota and beyond.”
