PIERRE, S.D. – Today, Governor Kristi Noem launched a new ad as part of the “Freedom Works Here” nationwide workforce recruitment campaign. “Bright Side” features Governor Noem as an electrician inviting workers to move to South Dakota. Applications rose above 5,000. There were more than 200 new applicants in the last 24 hours driven by Governor Noem unveiling the new ad on Hannity.

“Let’s look on the bright side: South Dakota stayed open for business during the pandemic,” said Governor Noem. “Now, we’ve got more jobs than people! So, I’m filling in – until you get here.”

In the “Bright Side” ad, Governor Noem explains that South Dakota is the best state in the nation to live, work, and raise a family. Governor Noem also says that South Dakota is the Freest state in the nation and has over 20,000 open jobs.

The “Freedom Works Here” ads have been viewed over 460 million times. Over 1,000 individuals are in the final stages of moving to South Dakota. This new ad will keep telling South Dakota’s story to Freedom-loving Americans across the country.

The most applications have come from California (847), Texas (361), Florida (360), Minnesota (309), and New York (223). 157 South Dakotans have also used the campaign as a tool to get plugged into career opportunities. A map showing where applicants are from can be found here.

These numbers represent those working directly through the “Freedom Works Here” program. Even more people are finding jobs and moving to South Dakota of their own accord after seeing the ads.
