MITCHELL, SD (Feb. 2, 2022) – Avera Queen of Peace Hospital is pleased to announce that Julie Hoffmann has been selected to serve as the vice president of Patient Services.
Hoffmann has been the interim vice president of Patient Services since July 2021 while also continuing in her role as the administrator of Avera Brady Health and Rehabilitation.

“Julie’s outstanding work in the interim role, and her track record of leadership as administrator at Avera Brady Health and Rehabilitation demonstrated to me that she is the right person for the vice president role,” said Doug Ekeren, the regional president and CEO of Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. “She has a wealth of patient care experience and has demonstrated the values of our organization – compassion, hospitality and stewardship – throughout her career.”

Hoffmann has spent more than three decades working for Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Among the roles she has held are Medical Floor nurse, Radiation Oncology certified nurse and director of Nursing for Avera Brady Health and Rehabilitation. In 2015, she became the administrator of Avera Brady, where they have achieved and maintained a 5-Star Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) status – the highest possible rating – for much of that time.

“I have been honored to lead the patient care team at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital since last summer and am excited for what we can accomplish together in the future. I feel my experience in the hospital, oncology and long-term care settings gives me a broad perspective of our organization and has prepared me to take on this role,” Hoffmann said. “This is a critical time for health care. The pandemic continues to challenge our caregivers and has contributed to a shortage of health care employees. We will remain focused on providing the highest quality care to patients but must also find new ways to support our staff during the ongoing public health emergency and to recruit future caregivers.”

As vice president of Patient Services, Hoffmann serves on the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital senior leadership council and oversees the operations of the facility’s patient care departments.
With Hoffmann assuming the vice president role on a permanent basis, a search process will begin for the Avera Brady Health and Rehabilitation administrator.
