Missing Castlewood Toddler Found Dead in Slough

CASTLEWOOD, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Tragedy struck in Castlewood on Monday after the search for a missing toddler ended with the discovery of the child’s body. Authorities say the one-and-a-half-year-old boy was reported missing in the afternoon. Crews from multiple departments searched fields, wooded areas, and buildings before finding him in a nearby slough shortly after 6 p.m. Officials confirmed the boy had drowned, only a short distance from where he was last seen.
