Mitchell Kernels split against Huron

HURON — The Mitchell boys basketball improved to 6-2 on the season, led by Caden Hinker’s 23 points, with a 64-51 win over Huron on Tuesday.

The Kernels girls gave up big runs to begin the second and third quarters and lost 69-46. Huron was led by Bella Shreeve’s 20 points. Sarah Sebert led Mitchell with 20 points, and Sawyer Stoebner scored a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Kernels take on Pierre on Thursday and Friday. The boys will be on the road on Thursday at Pierre, with tipoff on Pure Oldies 103.5 at 7 p.m. The girls will be at the Corn Palace on Friday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff
