Mitchell Softball home opener tomorrow, Tiger Baseball Military Appreciation & First Responder’s Day at Drake Field, DWU Softball on the road, Twins win back-to-back & Timberwolves dominate Pacers

Mitchell Softball

The Kernel softball teams will begin their season tomorrow night. After a pair of postponements, they’re hoping to be playing at home tomorrow against the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles at Cadwell Park. The first pitch will be at 4pm for the JV and varsity begins at 5:30pm. 

DWU Baseball

The Tiger baseball team gets another shot at the Briar Cliff Chargers this afternoon. The Tigers will host Military & First Responders Day at Drake Field. The first pitch for the doubleheader will be at 1pm. 

DWU Softball

The Tiger softball team is playing this afternoon on the road. DWU will travel to Forest City, IA to take on the Waldorf Warriors. It’ll be a doubleheader with the first pitch at 2pm at Forest City high school. Additionally, Alison Ernsberger has been named the Pitcher-of-the-Week in the Great Plains Athletic Conference for the second week in a row. She is coming off a week where she pitched for seven innings, had 11 strikeouts and allowed just one run. 

MLB

The Minnesota Twins faced the Detroit Tigers again last night. It was the second game between the two teams and the second win for the Twins. They came away with a 4-2 victory and are inching closer to a .500 record sitting now at 5-6 overall. The two teams play again tomorrow in their third game of the series at 6:40pm on MLBTV.   

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Indiana Pacers last night on the road in Indiana. Ayo Dosunmu led the way for Minnesota in the 124-104 win. He was one of six players in double figures. Minnesota has now improved to 47-32 overall.
