More than 460 students will be receiving their degrees during Mitchell Technical College’s 53rd graduation ceremony on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the World’s Only Corn Palace.

Mitchell Tech will host three separate commencement ceremonies this year in adherence with CDC guidelines. Ceremonies are scheduled for 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. The 11 a.m. ceremony will celebrate graduates from programs in either the Business and Services division or the Energy Production and Transmission division. The 2 p.m. ceremony will celebrate graduates from either the Engineering and Construction division or the Manufacturing division. The 5 p.m. ceremony will celebrate graduates from programs in either the Health Sciences division or the Agriculture and Transportation division.

Each graduation ceremony will feature a commencement address from Class of 2020 graduate Lane Wesseling. The former study body president is currently employed at Innovative Systems and will share a message of best wishes with the graduates.

Our Alumni Association speaker for each ceremony is Amy Gough, a 2014 graduate of Mitchell Tech’s Administrative Office Specialist program. Amy is currently employed at Mitchell Technical College as a media specialist.

Graduation will also feature the Spirit of MTC program awards, degree presentation, and first official introduction of the Class of 2021 – the first class to graduate from Mitchell Technical College.

Several safety measures will be in place for graduation to follow CDC guidelines, including limited seating. Each graduate received eight tickets to share with their family and friends.

Each graduation event will be live streamed for those that cannot attend. The live stream link will be available at http://www.mitchelltech.edu on graduation day.
