PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The federal government is in a partial shutdown after Congress failed to pass a budget by the October 1st deadline. South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says he’s frustrated, calling shutdowns a lose-lose situation. He’s pushing his Eliminate Shutdowns Act, which would keep the government funded in two-week increments until a budget deal is reached. Johnson warns the current shutdown could hit nearly 12,000 federal workers in South Dakota and cut back services at places like Mount Rushmore and Badlands National Park.
