Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams have a busy weekend of games. It begins tonight with games against the Rapid City Stevens Raiders in the World’s Only Corn Palace. Girls JV and sophomore boys play at 3:30pm, followed by the freshman and JV boys at 4:45pm. Then the varsity begins at 6pm with the girls (1-0) facing the Raider girls (2-1) and then the boys will follow against the Raider boys (1-1) and play at 7:30pm.

Mitchell Hockey

The Marlins girls hockey team (1-5) is competing tonight in Mitchell. They will host Sioux Center at the Mitchell Activities Center in the Toshiba Rink. The puck drops at 6pm.

DWU Basketball

The No. 10 women’s basketball team played in Honolulu, HI as part of the Hoops in Hawai’i Classic against (RV) Providence. It was a semi-low scoring affair, but the Tigers still pulled out a 58-40 win. They are scheduled to play again today at 5:15pm against No. 3 Campbellsville (KY) at The Shark Tank.

SDSU Basketball

The (RV) Jackrabbit women’s basketball team took on (RV) Duke last night on the road. It was not the best night for SDSU as they were blown out by the Blue Devils, 97-54. The men’s basketball team (7-6) will be on the road. Tonight, they’ll be in Milwaukee, WI at Fiserv Forum taking on Milwaukee (4-6). Tipoff will be at 4pm and air on pass the ball dot com.

NFL

Thursday Night Football did not disappoint last night in the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. It was a game that saw overtime in Seattle, WA and the hometown Seahawks escaped with a win, 38-37. Kenneth Walker III led Seattle with 11 carries for 100 yards and a rushing touchdown. For LA, Puka Nakua exploded without Davante Adams in the lineup and had 12 receptions for 225 yards and a pair of receiving touchdowns, but the Rams still fell short of the win.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves (17-10) will play again tonight when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder (25-2). It’ll be at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN with tipoff at 8:30pm on Prime Video.
