Sports Roundup: Monday 9/8/25

Mitchell Cross Country

The Kernel cross country teams will compete today. They will take on Scotland on the road at Dawson Creek Golf Course at 4pm.

Mitchell Soccer

The Kernel boys and girls soccer teams will see the field tomorrow. Mitchell will travel to Watertown to face the Arrows at Allen Mitchell Field. The girls will play first at 5pm and the boys will follow and play at 7pm.

Mitchell Volleyball

The Kernel volleyball teams will play tomorrow afternoon. All teams will be in action tomorrow facing Harrisburg at Harrisburg High School. The freshman & JV will play at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and the varsity will be at 6:30pm.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins ended their series with the Kansas City Royals on a high note with a 5-1 victory on the road. Home runs from both Byron Buxton and Kody Clemens ignited the win for the Twins. Next, they will start a new series against the Los Angeles Angels tonight at 8:38pm.

WNBA

The Minnesota Lynx are set to play tomorrow on the road. They will travel to Indiana to take on the Fever at 6:30pm on ESPN/ESPN+/Disney+. Additionally, Minnesota is locked in as the No. 1 seed in the WNBA Playoffs and playoffs begin on Sunday, Sept. 14.

NFL

The Minnesota Vikings will finally get to make their regular season debut tonight on Monday Night Football. They will hit the road to face the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field at 7:15pm on ABC/ESPN.
