Sports Roundup: Tuesday 10/21/25

Mitchell Volleyball

The Kernel volleyball team is set to have themselves a match tonight. They will travel to Aberdeen to face Aberdeen Central at Aberdeen Central high school. It’ll get started with freshman and JV at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity begins at 6:30pm. Additionally, after the latest media polls, the Kernels are now ranked No. 5 in class 11AA.

DWU Volleyball

The (RV) Tiger volleyball team will be in action tomorrow night. They’ll be in Forest City, Iowa taking on the Waldorf Warriors. Their game will be played at Denny Jerome Court beginning at 7:30pm.

DWU Soccer

The Tigers soccer teams will both be competing tomorrow afternoon. They’ll hit the road to Sioux City, Iowa and play on Faber Field against Briar Cliff. The men will play first at 1pm and the women will play after at 2:30pm.

MLB

The American League Championship series Game 7 took place last night for a team’s chance to punch their ticket to the World Series this Friday. It was the No. 2 seed Seattle Mariners against the No. 1 seed Toronto Blue Jays. It was Toronto who came away with the victory by a score of 4-3. They will take on the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series beginning this Friday.

NFL

Monday Night Football took place last night with a pair of games. You had the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans at the Seattle Seahawks. The Lions took advantage and took down a depleted Tampa Bay team, 24-9. Then the Seahawks got the best of the Texans and won it 27-19 to round out the night.

NBA

The NBA season begins tonight with a pair of National TV games. You’ll have the Houston Rockets at the Oklahoma City Thunder with tipoff at 6:30pm on NBC/Peacock. Followed by the Golden State Warriors at the Los Angeles Lakers at 9pm also on NBC/Peacock.
