Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams started off the season on the road in Watertown last night. It was a slow start for both teams, but especially in the girls game when both teams combined for just eight total points in the first quarter. Though Mitchell was able to pull it together with the help of Addie Siemsen, who had an 11-point second quarter and led Mitchell with 25 points in their 49-39 victory. The Kernel boys game went into overtime as Watertown made a late-game rally. Mitchell fell in OT, 59-55. They struggled in the game offensively and turned the ball over 25 times. Owen Raml had a career-high 22 points and Colton Smith added a 18-point and 17-rebound double-double.
