WEEKEND SPORTS: Mitchell Hockey & Wrestling continue, DWU sports in town, Minnesota Vikings & Timberwolves weekend games

Area Sports

Saturday’s Basketball Games:

  • McCook Central/Montrose @ Parker/Marion at 2pm (DH)
  • Elk Point-Jefferson @ Madison at 2:30pm (DH)
  • Sanborn Central/Woonsocket @ Sunshine Bible Academy at 3pm (DH)
  • Chamberlain @ Todd County at 5pm (DH)
  • Andes Central/Dakota Christian @ Platte-Geddes at 6:30pm (girls)
  • Andes Central/Dakota Christian @ Platte-Geddes at 7pm (boys)

Mitchell

The Kernel wrestling teams continue competing out west in a varsity tournament on Saturday for the second day. Both the boys and the girls are out in Rapid City at Summit Arena at The Monument taking on Rapid City Central. They start at 8am Saturday morning.

The Marlins varsity boys hockey team continue on in tournament action through Sunday. They’re in Minnetonka, MN playing in the Minnetonka Ice Arena.

DWU

The Tiger track & field teams are both competing over the weekend. On Saturday, they will host the DWU Snow Tiger Open in Mitchell. Both the men and the women’s teams will get started at 11am.

The No. 14 Tiger women’s basketball team (6-4) will be playing by themselves at home Saturday afternoon. They’ll be in the World’s Only Corn Palace hosting the College of Saint Mary Flames (3-10). Tipoff is set for 2pm.

SDSU

The (RV) Jackrabbit women (9-2) return to the court on Sunday. They will host Ball State in Brookings, SD at First Bank & Trust Arena. Tipoff is set for 2pm and will air on Midco Sports Two and the Summit League Network.

NFL

The Minnesota Vikings (5-8) will play again this weekend and this time on Sunday Night Football. They’ll be on the road facing the Dallas Cowboys (6-6-1) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. It will air on NBC/Peacock, and kickoff is at 7:20pm.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be playing over the weekend. They will retake the court on Sunday when they host the Sacramento Kings (6-19). They’ll be in the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN and tipoff is set for 6pm.
